SUMMARY:SPICE: Delivering Transport Projects through Cooperation: the Alliance Model
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday 23 February 2017 at 14:00 – 15:00 CET\, the Smart Procurement for Better Transport project will be hosting a webinar entitled “Delivering Transport Projects through Cooperation: the Alliance Model”. \nObjectives \n\nTo introduce the Alliance Model as an effective contract model for delivering transport projects\nTo discuss the benefits of the Alliance model in comparison to traditional frameworks in innovative transport projects and how to adopt this model for other types of transport project\n\nWho should attend \n\nPublic procurers such as national\, regional and city administrators\, road operators;\nTransport engineers and system suppliers;\nUniversities and researchers\n\nDescription\nTampere is a growing city driven by innovation and high-tech industry. Tampere’s innovation has also been applied to the contract of a major transport project in the city. The Rantatunneli tunnel in Tampere is under construction using the ‘Alliance Model’ of public procurement. This means the traditional customer-service provider model has been eliminated\, allowing involved parties to cooperate in the planning and implementing of the project. The alliance members are the City of Tampere\, the Finnish Transport Agency\, Lemminkäinen\, A-Insinöörit\, and Saanio & Riekkola. As a result of this cooperation\, the alliance members have been able to reduce disruptions caused by the worksite while cutting costs and speeding up processes. This webinar invites Mr Mauri Mäkiaho\, Deputy Director of the Rantatunneli project in Tampere\, to present the Alliance Model in public procurement\, in order to inspire public procurers to use the model for implementing other transport projects. \nSpeakers \n\nDr. Bahar Namaki Araghi\, City of Copenhagen\n\nWhat can other cities learn from Tampere’s experience\n\n\nMauri Mäkiaho Finnish Transport Agency\, Project Manager\n\nApproaches to innovation procurement\n\n\n\nOrganisers \nThis webinar is organised by the SPICE project. SPICE is a Horizon 2020 supported Coordination and Support Action (CSA) project with a focus on sharing knowledge and experiences on innovation procurement in the transport sector. \nTo register\, please click here. \nContact\nFor any questions\, please contact Yanying Li at y.li@mail.ertico.com  \n

SUMMARY:ITS European Congress 2016
DESCRIPTION:The Congress will take place from 6 to 9 June at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) which is just a short walk from the City Centre on the banks of the River Clyde. \nThe Congress theme is “Delivering Future Cities Now” and is based on Glasgow’s pioneering work on Smart Cities which recently resulted in a £24M award and is based on the City’s and Scotland’s long history of innovation in Intelligent Traffic Control which started in 1967 with Europe’s first computerised traffic control system. \nThe event consists of an extensive exhibition\, with an adjacent area for live demonstrations and a programme of high level and technical sessions providing the opportunity for the industry’s experts and political leaders to discuss current issues both formally at over 100 sessions and more informally during an extensive social programme. \n\n\nThe City’s Lord Provost will also invite Mayors of other European Cities to attend a Mayoral Summit during which solutions will be sought to common ITS problems experienced in European Cities. \nThe 11th European ITS Congress 2016 is proudly organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe in partnership with the European Commission\, and hosted by Glasgow City Council and Transport Scotland. \nVisit Scotland\, the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC)\, ITS United Kingdom and the Glasgow City Marketing Bureau strongly support the event. \nFor more information\, visit https://glasgow2016.itsineurope.com/

SUMMARY:FOT-Net Data Workshop: A common methodology for automation FOTs and pilots
DESCRIPTION:In this seminar we will go step-by-step though the FESTA methodology for conducting FOTs\, and focus on those issues that need to be addressed in automation FOTs and pilots. The focus will be on: \n• Societal scenarios and research questions\n• Study design\n• Data collection and analysis\n• Impact and socio-economic cost-benefit analysis\n• Data sharing \nThe objectives of this seminar are to explain the current methodology\, to extend the FESTA activities to automation pilots\, and to work together to take the first steps towards a common methodology. The seminar will provide both plenary presentations and small group discussions and exercises. We will work with an example FOT\, and go through all the methodological steps. \nThis seminar is meant for everyone who plans to become involved in automation FOTs and pilots\, as a researcher\, technician\, expert\, or stakeholder. \nNo previous knowledge of FESTA is needed\, although we would recommend to have a look at the handbook and/or the webinars where FESTA is explained. \nTo check the agenda and register\, click here

SUMMARY:iMobility Forum Plenary meeting
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe 6th  iMobility Forum Plenary Meeting will be held on Wednesday\, 21 October at the Diamant Conference Centre\, Brussels under the theme ‘Automation: Impact for Vehicles\, Infrastructure and Users‘. \nAbout the Topic \nThe iMobility Forum is working towards safe\, smart and clean road mobility via the large-scale deployment of intelligent vehicle and infrastructure systems in Europe in the context of the Digital Agenda for Europe\, EU ITS Action Plan and ITS Directive. The biannual iMobility Forum Plenary Meeting is the opportunity for all stakeholders involved in intelligent mobility to get together\, and learn about and discuss the progress and achievements of the iMobility Forum. \nEmerging vehicle solutions have the potential to transform travel experiences for end-users on the one hand and freight transportation on the other hand. The role of transport data and the trend towards automation will be discussed from diverse perspectives (i.e. users\, suppliers\, OEMs\, transport/freight operators\, authorities). Connectivity and automation\, is one of the core topics in order to maximise benefits for the transport system. The road to fully-automated cars\, however\, is likely to be long and beset with concerns about legislation\, data sharing\, HMI\, safety\, and liability. The outcome of the panel discussions will feed into the on-going work of the Automation WG of the iMobility Forum which is expected to deliver final recommendations for the deployment of Automation in the EU but also provide new research opportunities and priorities for Automation. \nRegistration \nTo register for the event\, please click through! \nAgenda \nTo view the latest version of the agenda please click through! \nFor more information on iMobility please check https://www.imobilitysupport.eu/ \n
