SUMMARY:eCall Testing Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop is organised by the ERTICO Partnership to present recommendations concerning the implementation of eCall according to the forthcoming regulation. In particular\, it will focus on how to achieve cost efficient testing of eCall components. \nThe workshop is organised for all ERTICO Partners. \nTesting of eCall devices and PSAP equipment\, as well as underlying modules is considered important for the successful introduction of eCall in Europe. In 2012\, the first interoperability test event\, organized at MIRA in UK\, showed the need to ensure the compliance of eCall devices to the relevant standards. \nThe HeERO EC co-funded project is preparing a deliverable providing a complete compliance assessment process for IVS and PSAP. In September 2013\, the ERTICO Partnership organized a successful TestFest event on end-to-end eCall compliancy testing. More than 30 companies participated in this event\, showing a growing interest for the interoperability of eCall devides. As the event concluced\, 4000 tests were executed; hence the ERTICO Partnership would like to explore this compliancy testing even further. It is important to finalize the test procedures and provide proper framework for vendors to apply for the eCall compliancy assessment. \nThe purpose of this workshop is to present the current test procedures and discuss how these can be expanded and improved regarding the overall eCall compliance assessment. \nOnly ERTICO Partners can register for this workshop. 150 seats are available. Please register by at https://www.eventbrite.com/myevent?eid=8649467791 \n  \n

SUMMARY:ITS World Congress
DESCRIPTION:ITS World Congress 2013: “Open ITS to the Next” \nITS is expanding into the next stage of mobility and society. \nStarting with safety and traffic management as basic concerns\, ITS is reaching out to three new domains: energy management\, personalized mobility services navigated by big data\, and resilient transport systems. The first two stem from the emergence of electrified vehicles and continuously advancing ICT technologies\, and the third concept of resilient transport has become very important since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011. At the same time\, mobility in mega cities/regions is a major issue to be addressed in emerging economies\, especially in Asia. \nOpen has been adopted as the key word for expanding the potential of ITS: open platforms for basic concerns\, and open connectivity\, opportunities and collaboration for the three new domains. \n https://www.itsworldcongress.jp

The webinar took place on 2 October 2013 and was moderated by Richard Harris of ERTICO partner Xerox Services. The transport sector\, public authorities\, the developers of games applications in the field of ITS and the digital content providers across emergent and established platforms were represented in the presentations. \nPresentations were made by moderator Richard Harris; Gary Bridgeman of Hodos Media Ltd.\, Charles Hunter of Mudlark and Professor Glenn Lyons of UWE. Marcel Meeuwissen of the City of Enschede was represented in the webinar by Richard Harris. \nGamification is nowadays increasingly being debated in the mainstream media and also in the ITS world Gamification is becoming evident. The webinar built further on the gamification session that was held at the 9th ITS European Congress that took place in Dublin in June 2013. It represented the latest thinking and advancements in gamification\, social media and the design of the user interaction. The webinar presented evidence on the use of gamification in transport and ITS and examined its future prospects. \nTo view the presentations\, please click on the presentation links : \nIntroduction : Richard Harris \nPresentations :Richard Harris\, Solution Director Xerox Services\, UKGamification potential \nGary Bridgeman\, CEO\, Hodos Media Ltd. – UKReality is broken\, why we all are gamers – and how they can change our behaviour. \nCharles Hunter\, Co-founder and Managing Director\, Mudlark – UKThe Joy of UX – A Journey into User-Centric Game Design. \nProfessor Glenn Lyons\, Associate Dean & Professor of Transport and Society\, UWE Bristol – UKSocial Media in Transport: Evolution or Revolution? \nRichard Harris on behalf of Marcel Meeuwissen\, Senior Advisor Traffic and Transportation\, City of Enschede – The NetherlandsChalleges and competition to change mobility behaviour \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Help design the future “Internet of Mobility” – MOBiNET Stakeholder Workshop
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe MOBiNET project is developing a Europe-wide platform for transport and mobility services\, to create an “Internet of Mobility”. This interactive workshop will give you the perfect opportunity to help shape this platform\, so that it becomes a tool to enhance your business. \nStarting from a business perspective of ITS service providers\, the opening session will explain the MOBiNET concept and set out the main features to be developed by the project. The initial set of user needs and requirements will be presented\, derived from several popular use cases including cooperative ITS-as-a-service\, a multimodal traveller assistant and personal telematics services. Whatever your business\, whoever your customers\, the MOBiNET platform is intended to meet your needs. Please bring us your challenges!! \nThe programme leaves plenty of time for workshop participants to discuss their own expectations and requirements for MOBiNET\, while the closing session will present a vision of the service platform as it will be deployed during and after the project phase. \nDownload the agenda \nLocation and contact information can be found hereunder \nTo join the workshop\, register HERE (attendance is free of charge)\n  \n  \n \nEmail: info@mobinet.eu Online: www.mobinet.eu Twitter: @MOBiNET_EU
